This series Includes:

Workshops in this series can be selectively opted for and/or tailored depending on the nature of the disciplines.

Introduction to R (for beginners)

Introduction to R (for beginners)

Duration:

2-hour virtual workshop or one day in-person workshop

Audience

Quantitative researchers, Postgraduate supervisors, and Doctoral & Masters students

Workshop Outline

The goal of this course is to introduce the quantitative researcher to R, an open-source statistical package. This course is intended for researchers that have no knowledge of R. The focus of the course will be to introduce participants to the R terminal, the R Studio editor, and the different windows and structure of R. Some hands-on analysis will be done in R.

The participant must have a laptop with internet access to be able to install Rand R Studio.

Introduction to SPSS

Introduction to SPSS

Duration:

2-hour virtual workshop or one day in-person workshop

Audience:

Quantitative researchers, Postgraduate supervisors, Doctoral & Masters students using SPSS for statistical analysis

Workshop outline

The goal of this course is to help quantitative researchers familiarise themselves with the basics of SPSS. This course is intended for researchers with no prior knowledge of SPSS.The course will cover topics like importing raw data, working with datasets and variables, choosing variables for analysis where necessary, calculating descriptive statistics and basic plots, and saving output from SPSS.

Participants must have a laptop with a licensed copy of SPSS installed.

Essentials of quantitative data analysis in a statistical package (SPSS) using questionnaires

Essentials of quantitative data analysis in a statistical package (SPSS) using questionnaires

Duration

8-hour virtual workshop or three-day in-person workshop

Audience

Quantitative researchers, Postgraduate supervisors, Doctoral & Masters students using questionnaires as research instrument

Workshop outline

The objective of this series of workshops is to aid quantitative researchers in analyzing data by utilizing SPSS as a statistical tool. The primary focus will be on applying statistical techniques using SPSS. A wide range of statistical techniques for examining questionnaire-generated data will be explored. The course's structure will follow the standard data analysis cycle.

This is not a statistics course, but instead a practical training on how to analyze quantitative data using a computer package. Upon finishing this program, participants will be proficient in following the data analysis cycle to analyze data collected using a questionnaire as a research instrument, as well as the statistical tool SPSS.

Participants must have access and a license for SPSS

Actual questionnaires and datasets will be used!

This workshop is a prerequisite for the intermediate workshop.

Intermediate quantitative data analysis techniques in a statistical package (SPSS) using questionnaires

Intermediate quantitative data analysis techniques in a statistical package (SPSS) using questionnaires

Duration

6-hour virtual workshop or one and a half day in-person workshop

Audience

Quantitative researchers, Postgraduate supervisors, and Doctoral & Masters students using questionnaires as research instrument

Workshop outline

The objective of this workshop series is to assist quantitative researchers in analyzing data using SPSS as their statistical package. The primary focus will be on the practical application of advanced statistical techniques using SPSS. A range of statistical techniques for analyzing questionnaire-generated data will be covered.

This is not a statistics course; rather, it is a practical course in quantitative data analysis using a computer package. The course will follow the typical data analysis cycle's structure .

Upon finishing the program, participants should be able to effectively utilize more advanced statistical techniques with the statistical package SPSS by following the data analysis cycle.

Participants must have access and a license for SPSS.

This workshop is a follow up from the essential quantitative analysis in a statistical package SPSS workshop.
